About Kristina
The young aspiring Soprano, Kristina Krizan-Kezele, has been sharing her talent with many people around Ontario for over 20 years.
She began studying voice at the age of 12 with teacher Janet Chong Oliver. Here she was able to develop a large repertoire of music to begin her career as a performer. With this in mind she attended Cawthra Park Secondary School for the Peel Board’s Regional Arts Program specializing in Vocal performance. She was able to extend her vocal abilities by singing in both junior and senior jazz ensembles, chamber choir, the senior girls choir and a 300-member school choir. She traveled with these groups and participated in the Ontario Vocal Festival as well as taking part in music competitions in Florida and Calgary, where gold and silver standings were received. Along with choral participation, she also took part in musicals throughout the years, such as Les Miserables, Sound of Music, Clue the Musical and a Meldley of Broadway Musicals.
Outside of the classroom beginning at the age of 6 till 15, Kristina sang in her Church Choir, where she had many opportunities to sing solos during the mass and concerts.
By the age of 15, Kristina took the leadership and became the Children’s Choir Director of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, for a few years. She also became the Music Teacher of the Slovenian School in Etobicoke, Ontario. She organized various concerts for both of these groups, which took place around the GTA at many Slovenian functions.
As a soloist, Kristina has been hired to perform at many functions for the Slovenian Community of the Greater Toronto Area. She has performed for both dignitaries of Canada, the USA and Slovenia. And still continues to do so. She is also performing for various wedding ceremonies, celebrations, and memorials.
Kristina completed her Bachelor of Music Degree, with honors in Music Education at the University of Western Ontario. Here she was a vocal major and worked with world renown vocal teacher Patricia Green to enhance her vocal abilities. As well with many other well known professors to help educate herself in the world of education.
She is currently an educator for the Peel Board District School Board and sharing her love of music to the many new generations to come.
Kristina was also a vocalist for a Slovenian Band, Spotlight Orchestra, for three years. They performed for various functions in the Slovenian Community in the GTA and for other communities in the Greater Toronto Area.
She has a great passion for performing and believes that music is an expression of the heart. Her vocal range is 3 octaves wide and her repertoire consists of a wide arrange of styles from Opera to Pop. She believes that when music is sung it brings out the true emotions of the event.
